The BusSafe System offers the most advanced security and instant notification of missing student riders in the world. It provides school districts the security and safety protocols never seen before in any school transportation system. While it is a school transportation solution for efficient fleet management, routing and cost reduction, the system also answers the most critical questions on every parent and school administrators mind:

Product Overview

BusSafe System uses the world's first integration between GPS (Global Position System) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. The hardware integration creates direct communication between the two technologies in real-time which allows the ability to monitor student bus rider's safe pick-up and drop-off.

BusSafe offers a web-based back-end solution that will allow administrators to manage all aspects and activities of the transportation department. The BusSafe System provides tools for real-time student management and security, effective bus fleet management, routing control, vehicle maintenance and monitoring of driving behavior.

Features

 Safe Bus Ride

• BusSafe uses RFID readers to monitor RFID tags on student school bags or ID cards, in order to record the students getting on and off at bus stops. This is done by communicating RFID tag data in real-time with the GPS device which electronically monitors each bus stop.
• BusSafe will send instant notifications to parents of successful student pick-ups and drop-offs. Parents can be aware if the child is not in the house within minutes of drop off and can notify authorities. BusSafe can also notify parents instantly when the school bus departs a bus stop and a designated student rider does not get on the bus.
• BusSafe can provide automatic bus stop analysis to make sure stops are not placed within certain distance of known sex offenders.
• The system will send instant alerts to school administrators, parents and bus drivers when students:
• Are dropped off or picked up at the wrong location
• Fail to get on or off the bus without prior notice from parents
• Gets off at the wrong bus stop

 Student Management

• The BusSafe student management system will allow administrators to attach student ID lists to specific bus routes. The system will instantly identify students getting on and off the bus. Notification can be made available to both the school and parent.
• The system is able to identify the right bus stop for the student.
• Each bus stop is placed within a specific bus route and the bus route is monitored for compliance.
• School administrators can manage student information and data remotely online or on a proprietary local server.

 Routing

• Automatic routing is generated based on student addresses. The system will use student addresses and other criteria to develop an automatic route for each bus, providing faster and more efficient trips.
• BusSafe provides the ability for buses to be assigned based on the routes rather than the schools. This will allow school districts to create multi-school bus routing, thus, allocating pick-up and delivery to multiple schools covering same route. This will reduce cost and lessen carbon emissions to the environment while increasing efficiency.
• Monitoring bus stops is a critical safety component of BusSafe. The system utilizes a public database of known sex offenders to monitor the location of bus stops along the route.

 Reporting and Technology

• Map data is updated on a quarterly basis to maintain effective routing and planning of the bus stops.
• Students’ pick up and drop off reports are generated and archived for up to 12 months.
• Exception reports are generated daily and can be used to improve ridership and safety of the student rider as well as, correct any problem with student riders and provide appropriate information to parents and school administrators.
• Reports are customizable through our data mart. Transportation authority can use any piece of data collected through the system to create customized reports.
• ASCII import/export capability of data to existing ERP system.
• Open source programming allows integration with existing bus routing system.
• BusSafe utilizes Oracle 10G for data management.
• Our technology allows programming of different speed zones on a single route.

How it Works

The BusSafe system utilizes a unique intelligent GPS product (integrated GPS/RFID) to deliver the most advanced student bus rider safety and security solution on the market. Each student rider is provided two (2) RFID Identification Tags, a RFID ID badge and a RFID bag tag that can easily be attached to a school bag. The BusSafe system reads the entry and exit of each student bus rider assigned to a particular bus. Instantly, information is transmitted to the intelligent GPS unit which delivers real time information to parents and school administrators.

Notifications are sent via the internet or a cell phone, informing parents that their child was safely picked up or dropped off by the school bus. In the event that the student rider does not get on/off the bus at the designated bus stop/school, parents and school administrators will be alerted immediately via the internet and/or cell phone.
